Tastes and Smells Burnt, Unlike Other Batches I've Purchased

I've thoroughly enjoyed the Montecito Blend but this last batch was not up to the usual standards. Upon opening the bag we noticed a strong, burnt smell to the coffee beans. After grinding up 2 batches it tastes burnt when drinking as well. It seems to be only a percentage of the beans that are burnt, the 3rd batch we ground from this bag didn't smell or taste as burnt as the first 2. I guess these things happen but it's been disappointing as this is my favorite blend that SBRC offers.

Not the same as before

Have ordered here a few times before, but for some reason this bag of beans was terrible. Tasted burnt and bitter. Had to throw it out.

Lovely reward for the end of my week

My introduction to Santa Barbara roasting company started with Amora Coffee. My preferred variety was the Elegante blend before Amora had merged with SB Roasting company. Before my first purchase, I had requested them which blend would most closely represent what I previously enjoyed from Amora, and they suggested the Montecito Blend. I brew this coffee to enjoy slowly on my time off, when can relish in the sensory experience of my cup of coffee. I like my cup salted slightly to cut the bitterness, finished off with heavy cream, butter and coconut oil (keto).

Second only to State Street

IMHO. Great flavor and balance. Roasted to a tanned perfection.

Good Coffee

This coffee was good but not exceptional. It is a good everyday beverage but not one I was real excited about. It says it is a dark roast and to me it was more of a medium.

Montecito Blend

I have purchased the State Street blend many times and decided to try the Montecito bland and was very happy with my choice. Loved the aroma and the smoothness will buy again.
